Africa Climate Summit

Come meet our Nairobi team at the Africa Climate Summit, the inaugural landmark event that brings together heads of state and government, policymakers, civil society organizations, the private sector, multilateral institutions, and youth to design and catalyze actions and solutions for climate change in Africa by providing a platform to deliberate on the nexus between climate change, Africa’s development reality, and the need to push for increased investment in climate action globally, and specifically in Africa.

Networking with Africa’s Climate Leaders: Perspectives from the Industry

We are a proud member and sponsor of the Nairobi Climate Network and will be attending this networking event where ACS delegates will have the opportunity to engage with the thriving community of professionals propelling climate action in Kenya. The Nairobi Climate Network will also launch its report “Perspectives from Africa's Climate Leaders,” which is based on a survey conducted earlier this year with the Climate Envoy's Office and includes perspectives from Climate Impact Partners.

Carbon Fundamentals Workshop for National Clean Cooking Alliances

Climate Impact Partners’ Tom Owino will be speaking at this overview of the carbon market as it pertains to clean cooking with a focus on Africa. Topics will include the mechanics of how cooking projects generate carbon emissions reductions, the players and roles in the system, an overview of fNRB, and a session on policy implications.

Banking on Carbon Markets: The Business Case for Investing in Clean Cooking Carbon Projects
- Hosted by African Guarantee Fund, the Clean Cooking Alliance, the Kenya Bankers Association, and the U.N. Capital Development Fund
- Tuesday, September 12
Banking on Carbon Markets is a one-day orientation workshop to enable senior bank managers to make more informed decisions in their initial steps into carbon markets by way of clean cooking projects. Tom Owino from our Nairobi office will be speaking at the event about quality in cookstove projects and what to look for when making investment decisions.
